Material comparison

Printing on bedding offers a customized and decorative touch. Our store features two distinct printing techniques for photo bedding, each suited to specific materials: sublimation printing on polyester and pigment printing on cotton. Each method brings unique benefits in terms of aesthetics, durability, and usability. We utilize eco-friendly inks certified by OEKO-TEX, ensuring "Trust in Textiles".

Material comparison

Characteristic

Sublimation Printing on Polyester Bedding:

  • Material: Made from polyester microfiber, this synthetic fabric is noted for its softness, smoothness, and subtle sheen.
  • Printing Technique: Through sublimation, the ink fuses directly with the fabric, becoming part of the fiber itself.

Pigment-printed cotton bedding:

  • Material: Cotton, a natural fiber, is sturdier than microfiber and offers better breathability.
  • Printing technique: Pigments are applied to the surface of the fabric and set with heat.
Colours

Sublimation printing on polyester bedding:

  • It offers vivid, deep colours with excellent tone reproduction.

Pigment printing on cotton bedding:

  • It consists of more subdued, natural colors that perfectly reflect reality.

Differences in washing and use

Sublimation Printed Polyester Bedding:

  • Washing Instructions: Polyester is highly resistant to wear; the colors remain vibrant and do not fade, even after numerous washes.
  • Usage Tips: Polyester bedding is quick to dry and seldom requires ironing, making it highly convenient for regular use.
  • Texture and Feel: This bedding is soft and gentle to the touch. The printed design is seamlessly integrated, making it virtually imperceptible.

Pigment Printed Cotton Bedding:

  • Washing Instructions: Over time and with multiple washes, especially at higher temperatures, the colors on the bedding may start to fade. This is particularly noticeable with solid colors such as black, which may show more significant fading than lighter, pastel shades.
  • Usage Tips: While cotton bedding demands more ironing, it offers better breathability, enhancing comfort during sleep.
  • Texture and Feel: Initially, cotton bedding is more rigid than microfiber alternatives and the printed designs may be felt on the surface. However, the material softens considerably after several washes.

How to wash our bedding

Polyester bedding should be washed at low temperatures (30-40 degrees) and delicate settings, we recommend not using bleach.

To ensure optimal color retention, we recommend washing on a delicate cycle, at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and with a spin cycle limited to 400 rpm. Higher temperatures and faster spin speeds may lead to increased wear on the print. Additionally, the use of bleach should be avoided.

Cotton before and after the first wash

Delicate settings, temperature 30 degrees with 400 revolutions.

Sublimation printing is ideal for polyester bedding when vivid, intense colors and durable prints are desired. Conversely, pigment printing is preferred for cotton materials where maintaining the natural appearance of colors is essential.
